YSL Rive Gauche
SOLD!
Yves Saint Laurent was a luxury fashion house founded in 1962 by the designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Berge. In 1999, the YSL brand was bought by Gucci and asked Tom Ford to design the ready-to-wear collection while Saint-Laurent would design the haute couture collection. Saint-Laurent closed the illustrious couture house of YSL in 2002, after years of poor health, drug abuse, depression, alcoholism and criticisms of YSL designs. While the house no longer exists, the brand still lives on through its parent company, the Gucci Group. The pret-a-porter line was produced under the direction of Stefano Pilati after Tom Ford left in 2004 and in February 2012, the house announced Hedi Slimane as the new creative head. The Yves Saint Laurent ready-to-wear collection will be re-branded as Saint Laurent Paris.
This is a rare opportunity to own this elegant purple velvet jacket from the YSL Rive Gauche A/W 2003/4 runway collection. It is evocative of Tom Ford’s era of designing for YSL. It is beautifully tailored and oozes polished chic. The jacket is a size 36 French which equates to an 8 UK and is available for £450. It is a timeless classic and looks fabulous worn with jeans or trousers and also over dresses.
