During the 1920s, the innovative Coco Chanel became the first designer to create loose women’s jersey, traditionally used for men’s underwear, creating a relaxed style for women disregarding the stiff corset bound look of the era. Chanel herself became a style icon with her striking bob haircut and tan placing her at the forefront of modern style. In 1922, she launched the fragrance Chanel No. 5, which remains popular to this day. Soon after in 1925, Chanel launched her signature cardigan jacket, and the following year matched its success with her little black dress. Both items continue to be a staple part of every Chanel collection. As she herself once said, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
This iconic black 2.55 quilted Chanel bag is a beauty. It is 100% genuine and it was originally bought in Selfridges. It has only been used a handful of times so it is as new. It comes packaged in it’s original Chanel dustbag and box. Originally it was purchased for £1850 but it is now available for £1650! A real investment piece for any fashionista!
The stunning earrings and “Ant” bangle pictured are from my favourite jewellery designer, Nicci Bethell. Her lovely original designs can be found at www.niccibethelljewellery.co.uk.
